We’re heading into our 45th year of operating high quality, all inclusive adventures. Since our beginnings, when we offered our first treks in Nepal and India, we have pioneered some of the world’s greatest adventures: cycling in Vietnam, China or India, or the 150- day Great Himalaya Trail, that traverses across Nepal. Our pursuit for the most cutting edge and exciting active travel program is relentless to this day, and we won’t stop.
As custodians of the environments and local people our travellers encounter, our proudest achievements lie in the policies we have in place to help preserve them so future travellers can also enjoy them. It started with our pioneering porter policies designed to improve the working standards of porters in Nepal, Peru and on Kilimanjaro. In 2012, we became the founding partner of the 10 Pieces Litter Collection initiative. We removed orphanage tourism from our program in 2013 and joined the working party of the Rethink Orphanages Network in 2017. We removed elephant rides from our program in 2014 and soon after developed our Animal Welfare Code of Conduct. This year, every adventure will be 100% carbon offset, with credits purchased supporting cleaner energy and reforestation projects in Australia, Vietnam, China and Zimbabwe.
