Keeping trails free of litter 10 Pieces at a time
We are the founding partners of 10 Pieces, a smart initiative that harnesses the collective power of travellers to help keep wilderness trails litter free. On Mt Rinjani, we invite you to sign- up to collect 10 pieces of paper or plastic that you find on the trail each day. Your crew collects the litter at the end of the day and disposes of it responsibly. Your actions can help mountain communities to maintain and increase efforts to keep their environments clean.
Child safe tourism
Children in tourist areas are especially susceptible to physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Our Child Protection Policy, developed in conjunction with World Vision, ensures that we vet travellers who will be in prolonged contact with children on our itineraries to ensure the children's welfare. We are also on the working party of the ReThink Orphanages Network and removed all orphanage tourism visits from our programs back in 2013.
Protecting vulnerable animals
Drawing on the expertise of international animal welfare organisation, World Animal Protection, we have developed the industry’s most comprehensive Animal Welfare Code of Conduct. We advocate that the best animal encounter is a wild one, we encourage you to view animals in their natural habitat and boycott cruel animal encounters. Visit our website to view our 10 Steps to Being an Animal Friendly Traveller.
Spreading the word that travel
is a conduit for world peace
As Coalition Partners of the International Institute of Peace Through Tourism we support the belief that the travel industry can become the world's first global peace industry and that every traveller is potentially an "Ambassador for Peace”. Visit our website to view the Credo of the Peaceful Traveller.
