Considering a climb of Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain? To maximise your chances of a safe and successful trek it's important you ensure that your trek includes some basic safety precautions. Packing a suitcase and heading off to unknown lands satisfies our urge to take a break from our everyday routine, discover new cultures, reconnect with nature, stretch our boundaries, relax and unwind and then return to our lives feeling refreshed. But there’s more to travel these days. Today, travel also affords us with the opportunity to: - protect the environment - contribute to communities in need - advocate against animal cruelty - take action to protect vulnerable children - support sustainable development and preserve - the world’s many rich and diverse cultures By travelling responsibly, we can return to our lives feeling satisfied that our travels have left a positive impact. World Expeditions has been creating innovative adventure itineraries since 1975. Our commitment to sustainable travel was formed when the company was first established, and today, in the face of a multitude of threats to the environment and societies, our commitment is stronger than ever. Creating genuine sustainable adventure itineraries often translates to real costs, which means that a raft of responsible tourism practises underpins our prices. By integrating these practices into our itineraries we enable our travellers to be ‘responsible travellers’. Conserving environments and cultures takes a united front, which is why we produce this Responsible Travel Guidebook. It’s a reference tool for our travel industry partners, employees and travellers, outlining our company wide initiatives, and it gives guidance to travellers about how to be ‘responsible travellers’. Shot in 2016 by one of our staff, this short clip showcases the spectacular scenery in the remote region of the Peruvian Andes known as the Huayhuash Cordillera. Trek the Huayhuash Circuit with World Expeditions, experts in remote trekking in the Andes. Did you know that meals on a 2-week tea-house based trek in Nepal could cost you in excess of US$800pp?! A quality trek in Nepal should include all your meals while on trek. It's not just a value for money reason, it also helps protect the local landscapes and your own health while on trek. Why worry about carrying excess cash and looking for a decent meal at the end of a long day on your feet when you could sit back and enjoy what you came for - the glorious Himalaya. Watch this video to learn the seven simple reasons we choose to include meals in all our treks in Nepal. Find your Nepal trek at https://goo.gl/vYxKjb The Sacred Valley connects Cusco to the Amazon and Machu Picchu. The area has many ancient archaeological Inca sites to discover. Spectacular highlights also include the local markets, the Inca cities of Ollantaytambo and Pisac as well as rafting the Urubamba River. Learn more at worldexpeditions.com Follow the trail to Gokyo Lakes with World Expeditions as we trek through the magnificent Everest Region, staying at our exclusive permanent campsites at Ghat, Monjo, Namche Bazaar, Phortse, Dole and Machhermo. On this particular journey, the group got snowed in at Machermo (4410m) and had to descend before they had the opportunity to reach Gokyo Lakes, due to a high risk of avalanches in the area. The amazing leaders managed to come up with an adventurous alternative and the group trekked over to Thyangboche Monastery and up to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4800m) for impressive views and one of the best picnic lunches ever! www.worldexpeditions.com If you're researching your Kilimanjaro climb there's some basic things you want to look for to ensure you choose a quality experience that will provide both safety and comfort. Whether it be larger tents, extra oxygen, a better guide to client ratio - make sure you check these items as you do not want to leave what could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to chance. Hokkaido may be best known for its excellent snow conditions, but there are secrets that are revealed only in summer. The ocean surrounding Hokkaido is blessed with bountiful seafood, attracting many food lovers all over the country, and it gets more exotic and even higher quality as we journey further north. Find out more: https://worldexpeditions.com/Japan/Cycling/Best-of-Hokkaido-By-Bike Our 'Best of Hokkaido by Bike' tour cycles from the east coast of Hokkaido and explores the northern most national park of Japan containing the undiscovered cycling paradise Rishiri Island. Designed for stronger riders who like to ride longer distances, the route is set so cyclists can challenge themselves by pedaling their way on the whole route from lodging to lodging. And for those that want the extra support, e-bike options are available. __________________ LET'S GET SOCIAL #WorldExpeditions #ThoughtfulTravel Subscribe to our channel above. A highlight clip of World Expedition's inaugural journey on the Northern Ice-Field in Patagonia in December 2017. Unfortunately, bad weather meant our travellers were unable to attempt the main objective San Valentin (4058m), but they did make a first-ever Australian ascent of the nearby Cuerno de Plata (3790m). Experienced mountaineer and guide Soren Kruse Ledet, who led the expedition, looks forward to returning for a second attempt on San Valentin in December 2018. If you would like to join Soren on a unique wilderness experience to one of the most remote and pristine corners on Earth then check out the link below. The climb is relatively straight forward and offers hands down the best mountain views in the Himalaya...ever. You can gaze upon both the North and South Col of Everest which is very rare. Very few people climb the twin Abi Himal peaks of Cholo and Kangchung so it is also incredibly unique to have such an off the beaten path experience in the often crowded Everest region of the Himalaya.
