Join the trip in Ho Chi Minh City and meet the local support team of guides, mechanics and drivers. A bike fitting is scheduled at 4pm with a transfer to our bike depot so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time for this. We can assist with pre and post tour accommodation should you wish to avail of it, otherwise make your way to our group hotel and bike fitting. Once our bikes have been assigned, we'll enjoy by a casual dinner with our team to learn about the days ahead. Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam’s largest city and a key gateway to the Mekong Delta. Accommodation: The Odys Boutique Hotel or similar

Meals: D

Leaving the city early, (by 6am) the route heads northeast, gradually transitioning from the dense urban environment of Ho Chi Minh City into the greener landscapes of Ðong Nai Province. The ride begins in Ðonh Quán District, where quiet roads wind through banana groves, mango orchards and pepper plantations. Passing through Tà Lài village on the edge of Nam Cát Tiên National Park, the landscape reflects the traditional lands of the Cho Ro and Ma communities. The terrain undulates gently, offering a mix of flat riding and gradual climbs before reaching the highland town of Bao Loc, known for its tea-growing region and cooler climate. This evening, join your group for a welcome dinner to mark the beginning of the journey. Accommodation: Sandals Vista Hotel or similar Total ascent: 500m / 1640ft

Meals: B,L,D

The route continues deeper into Vietnam’s Central Highlands, tackling demanding ascents climbing steadily through Di Linh District, an area widely known for its coffee production. Hillsides are covered in Robusta plantations, offering insight into one of the country’s most significant agricultural industries. As elevation increases, the air cools and the landscape shifts toward tea plantations and forested valleys. The approach to Ðà Lat reveals a different character again, a highland town set among pine forests, lakes and rolling hills, long known as a retreat from the heat of the lowlands. Accommodation: Colline Hotel or similar Total ascent: 50m / 3117ft

Meals: B,L,D

Departing Ðà Lat, the ride begins in the cool highlands before descending dramatically toward Vietnam’s south-central coast. The route crosses mountain passes and valleys, transitioning from pine forest into tropical lowlands. The highlight of the day is a long, scenic descent through mountain passes and wide valleys before the terrain flattens into coastal plains lined with sugarcane fields. In the afternoon, we continue past the sugarcane plantations before transferring to our hotel in Nha Trang. Accommodation: Sunrise Nha Trang or similar Total ascent: 1500m / 4921ft

Meals: B,L,D

A rest day allows time to experience Nha Trang’s coastal setting. The city sits along a broad bay, with beaches stretching alongside a lively urban waterfront. Options include visiting the Po Nagar Cham Towers set above the Cai River, lounging on the beach or exploring local markets and cafés. The day offers a pause between the highland riding and the coastal journey ahead. Breakfast is provided at the hotel. Lunch and dinner are not included, allowing flexibility to explore local dining options and experience the region’s coastal cuisine at your own pace. Your guide can provide recommendations. Accommodation: Sunrise Nha Trang or similar

Meals: B

Leaving Nha Trang, the route begins near Van Giã, a coastal fishing area where daily life centres around the sea. Riding north, the road follows a mix of shoreline and hillside terrain, passing small villages and local markets. Before lunch, we tackle a 7km climb averaging around 5%, the legendary Ðèo Co Pass, where mountains meet the ocean. From the summit, views extend across Vung Rô Bay, with fishing boats and aquaculture farms visible below. After the pass, enjoy a long descent into Vung Rô Bay, home to hundreds of thousands of lobsters living in underwater cages beneath the calm surface. In the afternoon, there are a few more short climbs along the coastline, rewarded with views toward Mui Ðien Lighthouse. The ride continues along the coast toward Tuy Hòa, where our hotel has sea views. Accommodation: Sala Tuy Hoa Grand Hotel or similar

Meals: B,L

The ride begins from the hotel along the coastline, passing Tháp Nghinh Phong and continuing toward Ô Loan Lagoon, where aquaculture and fishing shape the landscape. Calm waters are dotted with small boats and farming structures, offering a steady rhythm to the day. Further along the route, Mang Lang Church stands as one of Vietnam’s oldest Catholic sites, reflecting the country’s layered history. In the afternoon, we transfer to Quy Nhon, another beach city with a lively, distinctly local energy. Our hotel sits right on the beachfront, where you can join locals playing volleyball as the sun drops toward the horizon. This evening you are free to decide which of the wonderful restaurants to eat at, with seafood featuring heavily on the menus. Accommodation: Fleur de Lys Quy Nhon or similar

Meals: B,L

Cycling begins near Chùa Ông Núi after a van transfer, a significant Buddhist site set against the mountains, marked by the monumental 70mr seated Buddha statue overlooking the coastline. The route follows a series of gentle climbs in the morning, each opening views across the sea and surrounding landscapes. Continuing north, the ride passes through rural coastal communities, where daily life unfolds along quiet roads lined with rice fields and small homes. The day ends with a transfer to Quong Ngãi, marking the final stage before reaching Hoi An. Tonight, we come together for our farewell dinner to celebrate the journey we’ve shared. Accommodation: NewCC Hotel or similar

Meals: B,L,D

The day begins with a visit to the My Lai Memorial, a site of historical significance that provides context to the Vietnam War and its lasting impact. From here, the final ride follows quieter village roads through rice paddies and fishing communities, where traditional basket boats are still in use along the waterways. The transition into Hoi An brings a change in atmosphere, from open countryside to the preserved streets and riverside setting of this UNESCO-listed town. Accommodation: Anmira Hoi An Riverside or similar

Cycling surrounded by rice paddies and village life in rural Vietnam

Cycling the Mekong Delta

Cycling in the Mekong Delta follows a mix of quiet sealed roads, narrow concrete paths and sections of compacted dirt. Routes are generally flat, running alongside water and through villages, with minimal traffic. Surfaces are mostly smooth and non-technical, though short gravel or dirt sections may occur, particularly in more rural areas.

Cycling in Central Vietnam

Cycling the Central Highlands & Central Coast

Cycling across Vietnam’s Central Highlands and Central Coast follows a mix of sealed roads, quiet secondary routes and occasional rural lanes. In the highlands, terrain is more varied with longer climbs and descents through coffee plantations, forested hills and agricultural landscapes, while the coastal sections tend to be flatter or gently undulating, often tracing the shoreline past fishing villages and lagoons. Road surfaces are generally good throughout, though some rough or broken pavement can occur in more remote areas, along with short gravel sections. Overall, the riding is non-technical, with the main challenge coming from elevation changes in the highlands rather than the surface itself.

Moderate, with daily cycling on mixed terrain including some rolling hills and longer distances. A reasonable level of fitness and some prior cycling experience are recommended for consecutive riding days.

Yes, this is a fully guided cycling trip supported by experienced local guides and crew.

A mix of hotels reflecting the regions visited, typically with twin-share rooms and private facilities.

No, your main luggage is transported by the support vehicle, and you carry a day pack only.

The best time to cycle Vietnam from south to north is from December to April, when conditions are generally drier with moderate temperatures.

Giant e-Bike Class 1 models are available for rent at an additional cost. Equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and powerful motors, these allow you to enjoy mountainous terrain without physical strain. Availability is limited, so please enquire early.
