Thailand is one of Southeast Asia’s most welcoming and culturally rich destinations, known for its vibrant cities, ornate temples and diverse natural landscapes. From Bangkok’s energetic streets to the forested mountains of the north and the tropical coastlines of the south, the country offers a wide variety of experiences within a compact area. In the interest of public safety and animal welfare we also discourage travellers from partaking in such activities outside of our trips.
Thailand offers tropical islands, forested mountains and rich cultural heritage, with the best regions to explore including northern Thailand, Chiang Mai, the Andaman coast, Khao Sok National Park and central Thailand.
Chiang Mai & Northern Highlands: Northern Thailand’s mountains and temples create rewarding opportunities for trekking and cultural exploration.
Golden Triangle: The remote Golden Triangle region offers mountain trekking through hill tribe villages and forested landscapes.
Andaman Coast Islands: Limestone cliffs and tropical islands along the Andaman coast provide spectacular settings for kayaking and coastal exploration.
Khao Sok National Park: Dense rainforest and limestone mountains define Khao Sok National Park where jungle trekking and lake exploration reveal rich biodiversity.
Central Thailand Cultural Heartland: Central Thailand contains historic capitals, temples and river landscapes central to Thai history.
The best time to travel to Thailand for hiking, trekking and adventure touring is generally Nov–Feb, when temperatures are comfortable and conditions are favourable for exploring landscapes, national parks and cultural highlights.
Thailand has a tropical climate with warm temperatures throughout the year, typically ranging between 24°C and 32°C (75°F–90°F). Most regions experience distinct wet and dry seasons which influence travel conditions.
During the wetter season tropical showers refresh the landscape and create lush green forests and flowing rivers. While humidity is higher, this time can still be rewarding for adventurous travellers seeking vibrant scenery and quieter trails.
