Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands offer a striking North Atlantic landscape, where steep sea cliffs, deep fjords, waterfalls, green mountains and small coastal villages are closely connected to the ocean.

A self-governing archipelago within the Kingdom of Denmark, the Faroes comprise 18 volcanic islands located between Scotland and Iceland, with a distinctive Faroese language and culture shaped by generations of island life.

Exploring the islands by sea kayak and on foot reveals the landscape from two very different perspectives. From the water, paddle through fjords and narrow sounds, beneath high cliffs and towards sea caves and waterfalls. On foot, follow coastal trails and mountain paths through the landscapes and villages above.

Due to the unique nature of the islands, our Faroe Islands journeys are deliberately flexible. Weather and sea conditions can vary across the archipelago, so our guides assess conditions each day and adapt the kayaking and hiking program accordingly, allowing us to make the most of the opportunities available each day.
