Today is the starting day of your adventure, fly into Balmaceda Airport to be greeted upon arrival. You’ll be transferred down to the Terra Luna Lodge, which is located roughly 4 to 5 hours away. Along the way, we do a boat excursion (weather dependent) to the “Capilla de Mármol”, a fantastic maze of marble caves created by the millenary waves of Lake General Carrera. This stunning lodge has extraordinary views of the nearby snowy peaks rising up over the turquoise lake and is a perfect start to your adventure in Patagonia. Note: The recommended latest time to arrive at Balmaceda Airport is 12.00pm so please plan your travel plans accordingly. Overnight: Terra Luna Lodge

Meals:  L,D

After a relaxing night enjoying the Lodge’s facilities, today is the first day of our trekking adventure, we start by transferring to the starting point of our trek. The adventure begins with a climb into an ancient rainforest while we follow the river via several stunning waterfalls to reach Bosque Encantado. Stopping to grab our breath, you will have a gorgeous view here of the various glaciers that are common in the region. From here the trek continues upwards to El Balcon, the perfect site to rest for the remainder of the afternoon and enjoy the fantastic views around of the glaciers pouring out of the mountains. This typical mountain ambiance is where we will camp for the night. Overnight: Wilderness Camping

Meals:  B,L,D

Today will be a rest day to pick and pack the various supplies we will need over the next few days of trekking. This area is dominated by the Northern Patagonian Ice Fields which, although smaller than its Southern counterpart, still stretches over hundreds of kilometres along the top of the Andes Mountain range. These icefields are the largest expanse of ice in the Southern Hemisphere, apart from Antarctica and there are 30 significant glaciers in the region. Today you have the opportunity to do shorter walks in the area (weather dependant) to explore the area. There is also a chance to kayak through the crystal-clear waters that cascade down from the nearby glaciers. Overnight: Wilderness Camping

Meals:  B,L,D

After spending a quieter day enjoying the area it’s time to get back to trekking. To start the day, we head upwards for around 300 meters before descending rapidly into the Forgotten Valley (Valle Olvidado). After taking a quick bite to eat and enjoying the fantastic views of the Ice Fields we will head back up to reach our camp for the night, La Tinita. This camp spot has incredible views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers and makes it a perfect place to spend the night after a long day of trekking. Overnight: Wilderness Camping

Meals:  B,L,D

Wake up early and be prepared to get your feet a little bit wet as today we are trekking our way through peaks, lakes and glaciers. After a busy morning, we stop at “El Balcon” where we stop to have lunch amongst the magnificent scenery. From here we need to head back up to the reach the “Glaciers Viewpoint”. This viewpoint has a full 360-degree panorama of the surrounding area that gives a great indication of the size of the current Ice Field and how long it was when at it’s largest 18,000 years ago. From here we cross into the wildest part of our trekking, which is saying something for this extremely remote part of the world, to get down to La Joyita. After a busy day of demanding adventuring, we reach our camp and bed down for the night. Overnight: Wilderness Camping

Meals:  B,L,D

Today we take the opportunity to have a well-earned rest day. This is an extra day included in case of bad weather and to also restock our supplies that will be needed for the journey. If on schedule, we can organise a small ice climb to a viewpoint surrounded by impressive mountain of rock and ice walls. Overnight: Wilderness Camping

Meals:  B,L,D

Today we are heading back down to the Forgotten Valley (Valle Olvidado). We will follow the river down taking the opportunity to enjoy the crystal clear waters that flows down from the nearby glaciers. Continuing with our adventure we trek through the Forgotten Valley to reach the lakes fed from the Northern Ice Field glaciers in the region. This awe-inspiring glacier fed lake is full of giant icebergs that cascade off the nearby glacier. If you’re lucky you will see this glacier calving (when the ice breaks off a glacier) for yourself, make sure to listen out for loud cracking and booming as a pre-indicator of the event. We will take a boat across the lake while navigating amongst all the ice before we continue our trek into Pecebre (Fish Tank) base camp. Overnight: Wilderness Camping

Meals:  B,L,D

Today is another rest day while we restock our supplies and enjoy the scenery. We will take a walk across to the glacier front that we are the closest to. As part of the Northern Ice Field this area has some of the world's fastest-flowing glaciers, something you can witness up close and personal. There is also a possibility that we can take an icetrek today to climb up and into the amazing landscape. Overnight: Wilderness Camping

Meals:  B,L,D

Today we will head up to the 1,300m summit for a privileged view of Patagonia. This is the highest altitude that we will reach on this trek and is well worth the effort. The spectacular views around the region, including of the Northern Ice Field, the lakes we have just trekked around plus towering Andes makes this experience one of the most unique in the world. After taking in the views and recovering our breath we will head back down Pecebre camp for one last night in the remote wilderness of Patagonia. Overnight: Wilderness Camping

Meals:  B,L,D

This is the last day of our trekking in the region, heading out from our camp for the last few nights we leave Pecebre behind and trek through the surroundings. Today is a shorter trekking day as we will hop onboard the jet boat to ride return to Terra Luna Lodge. The jet boats we use are the latest in marine technology and can navigate up to 70 kilometres per hour in very shallow water (as low as 20cm!) to return from the glaciers. Tonight take the opportunity to relax in comfort, perhaps enjoy the private discothèque or soak in the jacuzzi, the lodge will ensure you are rejuvenated after your amazing trekking adventure. Overnight: Terra Luna Lodge

Meals:  B,L,D

For the final day we have arranged a departure transfer to Balmaceda airport for you. Please note: We would recommend booking any departure flights after 3.00pm as the transfer between lodge and airport is around 5 - 6 hours.
