Overview

Torres del Paine in Patagonia is one of the world's most beautiful wilderness areas. An unrivalled landscape of craggy granite peaks that pierce the skyline, impossibly blue lakes, cascading waterfalls and lush valleys carved by ancient glaciers. This unique adventure takes you through Torres del Paine's highlights and lets you enjoy the best of the park's flora and fauna on nature walks, treks and cycling excursions with your local expert guide. Discover the vast pampas and forests, home to herds of Guanaco and hopefully spot Andean Condors circling near the base of the dramatic granite 'Towers of Paine'. After each exhilarating day we return our unique ecocamp with its comfortable dome tents modelled on the traditional Kawesqar hut, perfectly immersed in the park's wilderness.

The trip begins with you being picked up from your hotel or airport in Punta Arenas airport in the morning and driven to EcoCamp Patagonia, located in the world-famous Torres del Paine National Park. Pick-up can also be arranged from your hotel in El Calafate. En route we visit Puerto Natales, a small, lively town on the shores of "Seno de Ultima Esperanza", where we enjoy a hearty local lunch. The journey is very scenic, with wild birds and wonderful landscapes to be seen. The day ends with our arrival and overnight stay at EcoCamp Patagonia, nestled in the heart of the park with a view of the Torres. During summer the sun sets around 11pm, so upon arrival there's plenty of light to admire the Patagonian steppe with its guanacos and snow-peaked mountain horizon. Please note: The two nearby airports are Punta Arena and Puerto Natales. Puerto Natales is only two hours from Torres del Paine, however, there are only a few flights offered each week. Punta Arenas is about five hours from the Torres del Paine National Park, but there are more flights available. We offer two transfers per day, traveling from EcoCamp to Punta Arenas and passing through Puerto Natales. This trip can also start in Puerto Natales at no extra cost. If you come from El Calafate, our regular transfer from there uses a public bus leaving early in the morning and therefore you would have to be there the previous day. Please advise us at the time of booking where you would like to start this trip so joining arrangements can be made.

When we first see the great granite pinnacles of Paine it is worth remembering that the Andes is the youngest chain of mountains in the world. One can imagine the great pressures and movements of the earth that created these spectacular peaks. There are various options available depending on your preferences and desired level of activity. Possible day trips include Western Lakes and Grey Glacier, Laguna Azul or the base of the Towers of Paine. To explore Torres Del Paine, you can choose between nature walks, treks and bike excursions - it all depends on your mood, weather conditions and travel companions preferences! The whole experience of walking in the Torres del Paine National Park will leave you awe-inspired by the wonderful scenery. PLEASE NOTE: All excursions are subject to availability & weather conditions.

This morning we sit back, relax and enjoy a scenic drive to your hotel or airport in Punta Arenas (on time to catch the evening flight to Santiago if required). Alternatively, the trip can also end at in El Calafate (bus station). Please don't book flights before 4pm out of Punta Arenas or El Calafate. Please note: This trip can also end in Puerto Natales at no extra cost. Please advise us at the time of booking where you would like to end the trip.

This trip has it all. The fabulous hikes with a good mix of difficulty degree, cover three of the most popular hikes: Wtrek, Cerra Torres and .Mt Fitzroy. The accommodation was beyond expectation and the food was good. You traverse the whole of Patagonia!

EcoCamp Patagonia’s domes, immersed in the park’s wilderness, provide cozy accommodation each night. EcoCamp has 25 bedroom domes in total and 3 large community domes where guests eat breakfast and dinner overlooking the towers and unwind in the bar in the evening or plan excursions in the library.

Standard Dome

The Standard dome was the first dome we made in EcoCamp and is also the smallest.

Nestled amid the hilltop splendor of EcoCamp, these charming Standard Domes peek out from the lush foliage, inviting guests into a cozy, intimate space. Inside, you'll find a snug haven with a large, warm bed. One of the standout features of the Standard Dome is its skylight, offering a breathtaking view of the stars as you drift off to sleep.

Superior Dome

The Superior Domes, spacious and comfortable, are the perfect choice for trekkers seeking a bit more space and comfort at the end of a long day's trekking. They are the ideal upgrade from a Standard Dome for those doing the 'W' trek, offering heating, a private bathroom, and a more spacious interior. Each Superior Dome is equipped with comfortable queen-size or twin beds, a propane heater, and a private bathroom with a sophisticated composting toilet.

Suite Dome

Inside, you'll find a cozy double bed or twin beds, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The private bathroom, equipped with hot water and a state-of-the-art composting toilet, combines modern convenience with eco-friendly design. A contemporary low-emission wood stove keeps the space warm, while locally crafted decorations add a touch of authentic charm. For peace of mind, a safe box is provided for your valuables, and the dome also provides electricity.

Suite Dome Lofts

Enjoy all the space and luxury of a Suite Dome with an added loft—ideal for families or larger groups. The main level features a comfortable double bed (or twin beds), cozy chairs, and a convenient table. Upstairs, the loft offers a spacious and inviting double bed. This Suite Dome accommodates up to four guests in total.

Yoga Dome

EcoCamp’s Yoga Dome sits perched on the edge of the EcoCamp site, overlooking the Patagonian pampas. It is the ideal space to practice yoga with daily classes twice a day. With the Paine Towers rising in the background and the landscape spread out before you, you’ll feel connected to nature instantly.

EcoCamp is the perfect mix of adventure, environmental sustainability and comfort in the wilderness. We offer good quality food and wine in a friendly hospitable atmosphere, with innovative accommodation in the world’s first geodesic dome hotel. We have the utmost respect for the park’s fragile environment, using only green energy and a sophisticated waste recycling system. Our trekking guides are of the highest quality and are specialists in the park’s geography, geology and fauna.

The vast unbroken stretch of ocean to the west and south of the South American continent leaves the Patagonian Andes very exposed to the winds that circle the Antarctic landmass, making the weather hard to predict. Fine weather may deteriorate almost without warning; even in summer (December to March), you should come prepared to find strong cold winds (up to 130 km/hr) and rainfall. The temperature in generally cool but can vary. In summer, the temperature during the day averages at around 11ºC (51ºF). Daytime temperatures range from 2 to 24ºC (36 to 75ºF) and during the night it can range from -5 to -1°C (23 to 30°F).

For the regular pick up from Punta Arenas airport, we always recommend taking the early flight arriving at Punta Arenas before 11 AM. For the regular drop-off, we recommend booking a flight leaving Punta Arenas airport after 3 PM.

EcoCamp’s Standard Domes are specifically designed to naturally absorb heat from the sun during the day and circulate it throughout the dome at night so there’s no need to resort to artificial heating. The temperature will vary depending on conditions outside and fleece blankets are supplied to make sure you’re completely snug at all times. Extra blankets are also available on request.

We've put a lot of effort into developing a menu of fresh, hearty meals that use ingredients from our very own organic garden or from nearby local producers. Our all-inclusive programs include breakfast, box lunch and dinner. EcoCamp Patagonia is proud to be veggie and vegan-friendly, with a great alternative menu of filling and varied vegetarian meals. Just be sure to let them know about your specific dietary needs in advance.
