This 15 day safari traces key regions of the Great Migration route. Each year, more than 1.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelle, move in a vast circular pattern between Tanzania and Kenya. This continuous, year-round migration follows seasonal rainfall and fresh grazing, with predators such as lion, cheetah and crocodile closely tracking the herds.
In Kenya, explore Amboseli National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds set against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, and the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve, where sweeping savannah plains support exceptional predator sightings and seasonal wildebeest migration activity.
Crossing into Tanzania, the journey continues through Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab and Lake Manyara National Park beneath the Rift Valley escarpment. The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage listed volcanic caldera, offers one of Africa’s most concentrated wildlife experiences, including opportunities to see endangered black rhino. Three nights in the Serengeti allow time to explore this vast ecosystem.
Beyond wildlife, the itinerary includes cultural interactions with Maasai communities, a village visit near Lake Victoria, and time in Nairobi to explore the Karen Blixen Museum and conservation initiatives such as the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.
Accommodation is in carefully selected permanent tented camps and safari lodges that provide comfort and excellent access to the parks, allowing you to immerse yourself in the safari environment while travelling in small group of no more than 12 people, with experienced local guides.
