Trip highlights

  • Drift quietly downriver in a traditional dug-out canoe, spotting crocodiles basking on the banks and an array of birdlife
  • Enjoy a jeep safari, on the lookout for rhino, deer and monkeys
  • Relax at your jungle lodge, a gentle contrast to your days in the mountains

Overview

A visit to Chitwan National Park reveals a completely different side of Nepal. Set on the terai at the edge of the Indian plains, Chitwan is a world of dense forests, wide river flats and tall grasslands that feel a world away from the mountains.

Over three days, you’ll explore this jungle landscape on foot, by canoe and by jeep, with the chance to see wildlife such as one-horned rhinos, deer, monkeys, crocodiles and a variety of birdlife. With luck, you might even catch a glimpse of a sloth bear or Bengal tiger. Our jeep safaris take you deep inside the national park, while walks and quiet canoe trips offer a slower way to take it all in.

This short adventure is an ideal contrast to time spent trekking or exploring Nepal’s bustling towns, giving you the chance to experience the rich diversity of the country in just a few days.
