Nepal Winter Trekking Sale

Read here why you’ll want to book a trek in Nepal departing in January or February

From excellent air clarity and comfortable walking conditions to avoiding the crowds, here's six reasons why you should consider trekking in Nepal with World Expeditions during January and February.

1 – UNCROWDED TRAILS

Certain trails, like the route to Everest Base Camp, is popular with trekkers from all over the world, particularly in October and November as well as March and April. But in January and February, the trails are fantastically quiet and a greater connection with the locals is forged as a result of it being less busy. This is a truly big benefit for winter time trekking.

2 – MOUNTAIN VIEWS AT THEIR VERY BEST

Let's face it, one of the main reasons you want to trek in Nepal is to see high mountains, right? The Himalayan vistas dominate the skyline and sit well above the clouds, and hands down the best chance for cloud free days is at this time of year.

3 – LOWEST MONTHS FOR RAINFALL

It’s a well known fact that precipitation is at its lowest in the months of January and February. For trekkers, this means, dry conditions are far more likely at this  time of year. You’ll still need to pack your wet weather gear, but chances are, you’re unlikely to use them.

4 – BEST  DAY TIME TEMPERATURES FOR HIKING

On lower altitude trails under 3000m in months like September, October, April and May, it can get hot. January and February being winter time bring cooler days, and clearer skies. Day time temperatures, even at high altitude, are really favourable (crisp) when you are exercising.

Also, exploring Kathmandu's temples and markets are far more pleasant with average daytime temperatures hovering between 10 and 20 degrees celsius.

5 - STAY WARM AT OUR EXCLUSIVE SEMI-PERMANENT ECO-CAMPS

At higher elevations there is no hiding that the nights can be frigid. Thanks to our comfortable semi-permanent eco camps, exclusive to our trekkers, you can relax in a heated dining room and fall asleep in raised beds complete with mattresses and pillows. We also supply appropriately rated sleeping bags and down jackets. And here's a handy tip, with many more from our guide when on trek, fill up your water bottle with hot water and place it into your sleeping bag 20 minutes before you retire for an even toastier snooze.
